Summary: This 66,000 SF warehouse include3s a fully operational FedEx Ground processing center, staging and office areas. Construction elements consisted of a Varco-Pruden®, pre-engineered steel structure. Exterior materials included texture clad paneling. The building was winner of the 2008 VP Buildings Hall of Fame—Distribution Center Category.

ATI Titanium

Location: North Skull Valley, Utah

Summary: This is a classified, highly-secure project. Describable elements include 25,000 SF of new project facilities located at the existing plant in North Skull Valley, Utah. These projects require high levels of security and training for Project Manager, Superintendent and Project Manager Assistants, as well as all subcontractors and self performance work crews.

Cerro Copper

Location: Cedar City, Utah

Summary: Ascent was a general contractor for construction of the multi-phased, 266,000 SF, design-build project. Ascent was responsible for all site work, grading, and land improvements prior to the commencement of facility construction.  Additional scope requirements included specialized concrete including 10” thick with two layer #5 rebar and oversized anchor bolts, reinforced loading bays, safety posts, cutting, burlap curing, high-wear floor sealant and anchor systems for material storage and delivery.

Conestoga

Location: Tooele, Utah

Project Owner / Client: Conestoga

Summary: This new 115,000 SF concrete tilt-up manufacturing plant and support office facility is part of the Pennsylvania-based kitchen and bath company.  Included in the 115,000 SF are high-stacking storage, warehouse space, conveying systems, vehicle storage and maintenance areas, manufacturing areas and 15,200 SF of office space.  Exterior elements included glass vestibule, tilt-up wall finishes, security lighting and air filtration systems. This building received an Intermountain Contractor Best of 2007 Award.

Watson Laboratories

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Project Owner / Client: Watson Pharmaceuticals

Summary: This Project consisted of a 28,000 SF, cGMP warehouse and sample room located at the existing facility. Interior remodel elements include cement work poured at an 80 level for air pallets, high–speed fire suppression systems, electrical service upgrades, restrooms, clean room, warehouse storage and racking, new interior walls and new mechanical with seismic-zone upgrades.

Ace Recycling Facility

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Project Owner / Client: Metro Waste, LLC

Summary: This 73,000 SF facility was the second project completed by Ascent Construction for Metro Waste, LLC. The pre-engineered metal building project included a combination of clear span and modular primary building frames within the 200-foot wide building, with a 32-foot minimum clear height at the lowest structural point.

Wasatch Integrated Waste Management Administration and Shop Facility

Location: Layton, Utah

Project Owner / Client: Wasatch Integrated Waste Management District

Summary: Ascent constructed a new one-story, 4,800 SF masonry administration and visitor center connected to a 10,000 SF Varco-Pruden®, pre-engineered building for a truck maintenance shop. The project is built on a 100-acre site; 8 acres are paved and include a new Scale House building.

Salt Creek Manufacturing Facility

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Summary: This new design-build project included a boat maintenance facility and a processing plant for brine shrimp products. The exterior of the facility used CMU and cast-in-place concrete. The entire 46,000 SF project used pre-engineered Varco-Pruden® structural steel and incorporated a drive-in processing freezer.

Schwan's West Haven

Location: West Haven, Utah

Project Owner / Client: The Schwan's Food Company

Summary: This project included the construction of a new 8,539 SF refrigerated food warehouse and office located in West Haven, Utah. The building construction consisted of a pre-engineered metal building, with an E.I.F.S./masonry façade and aluminum storefront.

Schwan's Salt Lake City

Location: Salt Lake City, Utah

Project Owner / Client: The Schwan's Food Company

Architect: Hay Dobbs, PA

Summary: Ascent was the general contractor of this 10,000 SF, refrigerated food warehouse which was completed in June 2006. The exterior building construction consisted of metal studs with architectural metal panels and masonry. Interior construction included conveying systems, freezers, high-pile storage, offices and support areas. This was the third facility completed in Utah by Ascent for The Schwan’s Food Company.

Metro Waste Facility

Location: Sandy, Utah

Summary: This 28,800 SF pre-engineered building is the State’s first facility to recycle commercial waste and serve as the largest hauler of construction and demolition refuse. The facility was designed to recycle drywall, concrete, paper, lumber, plastic and metal.
