Summary: Ascent performed the construction of a new 13,200 SF Visitor and Science Center for the Escalante Grand Staircase National Park. The project included refurbishing the existing BLM office building exterior and connecting the two buildings. Interior construction included a theater, conference rooms with projection screens and exhibit areas. The building was designed to meet the criteria for LEED green building and was awarded the Gold-level accreditation with a score of 42 points.

Summary: The scope of this project consisted of construction of two, new 2-story dormitory buildings 104,000 SF and a separate Transportation/Security building. Each building consists of four separate dormitory wings with a total of 72 dorm units per building. Dorm units include private bathrooms, closets, study area and two beds. Common areas include day rooms and two resident advisor offices in each wing (total of 8 per building). Included in the main wing is a foyer style auditorium where training and exhibitions and student activities take place.

Summary: Ascent was the General Contractor for the new construction of the 30,000 SF field office/ranger station. The specific construction elements of this project included a masonry structure built on concrete caissons. The structure and layout included offices, public restrooms and visitor areas, and a vehicle maintenance shop. This project was completed on budget and ahead of schedule. The facility was designed and constructed to meet the criteria for LEED green building certification and was completed in July 2004.

Summary: As the general contractor, Ascent remodeled rooms located within the Vehicle Maintenance Facility. Ascent worked closely with the owner under secure project requirements to provide interior finishes, electrical and HVAC upgrades, drywall, perimeter security upgrades and placement of 3,000 LF x 7 FT fencing with 3-strand barbed wire with two motorized sliding gates that were 40 FT wide. Additionally, the project required concrete demolition and cleanup as well as the installation of new concrete pads and security pole lighting.
