His love for construction started at the age of 15 with his first construction job. He later became an Executive Vice President for the largest
Utah construction firm at the time. With a commitment to
“building better”, Brad set out in 2000 to establish a company that would set a new standard for commercial construction. Under his leadership, Ascent has taken the construction industry by storm and has set a growth pace that is unmatched in Utah and surrounding states. Brad received his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Utah in 1984. He also pursued graduate level studies in construction contracting, management, engineering law, finance, planning and scheduling.
J. Scott Johansen - Vice President/CFO
As co-owner and Chief Financial Officer, Scott helped organize and structure Ascent in 2000. He brings 23 years of industry-specific knowledge, experience and leadership to Ascent. His ability to make insightful business decisions and his financial guidance has led Ascent to being published in
Entrepreneur Magazine's Hot 100 Fastest Growing Businesses in America two years running. In only 9 years, Ascent has grown to a bonding capacity of $150 million. Scott received his Bachelor of Science and Master’s degrees in Accounting at Brigham Young University. He continues to look for ways to help Ascent grow and be successful.
Robert L. Murri - Director of Marketing
Bob joined Ascent as the Director of Marketing in 2007. He brings nearly 30 years of experience in sales, sales management, sales strategy, product management, public relations and marketing to Ascent. Bob received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Relations/Communications from Brigham Young University in 1982 and earned a Masters degree in Project Management from the Keller Graduate School of Management in Chicago. His energy, positive attitude and commitment to excellence have had a positive impact on the company’s competitive positioning for success in the commercial construction marketplace.
